This led to the death of many Jedi and family members of Republic citizens, but kept the galaxy safe for a little while longer. Unbeknownst to most of the galaxy, Senator Palpatine ( Darth Sidious) knew that the ship might accidentally attract the attention of unfriendly aliens, so he had it destroyed. For reasons unknown at the time, Chiss expeditionary forces (led by the late Thrawn) destroyed the ship.

On the edge of Chiss Space, the Empire of the Hand has discovered the remnants of the Republic’s doomed Outbound Flight. Originally, the ship was to travel to the ends of the galaxy and discover new territory for the Republic. Thankfully, both of these relationships were formed just in time. After destroying the last of the late Grand Admiral Thrawn’s machinations, Luke and Mara have opened up diplomatic relationships with both the Empire of the Hand (Thrawn’s former subset of the Empire) and the Chiss themselves. But Luke, past the Empire’s prime and in love with another Jedi, decides that his Order doesn’t need to be beholden to this rule.

As Luke learns more about the Jedi of the Old Republic, he learns that they eschewed attachments like marriage. First, Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker and former assassin-turned-smuggler-turned-sorta-Jedi Knight Mara Jade have recently discovered that are a good team, both as Jedi and as lovers. Lots of new unions have been forming over the past couple of years in the galaxy. But when its remnants return, it might signal something even more dangerous for the New Republic! Check out today’s Legendary Adventures as we read Survivor’s Quest! An ambitious project launched by the Republic, Outbound Flight was to discover the universe…until it was destroyed under suspicious developments.
